Indo-Pak Conflict News: As war erupted between India and Pakistan after Pakistani military attempted to target several bordering regions on the Indian site, drawing stern retaliatory action by the Indian Armed Forces, all eyes were on the first sign of commentary from the Donald Trump administration. Amidst the constant exchange of fire that began at around 9 pm on Thursday, with much of the Pakistani offensive either blocked or neutralised by the Indian defence forces, US Vice President JD Vance expressed America’s neutral stance on the conflict.
The United States cannot control war between India and Pakistan, asking them to “lay down their arms”, Vance told Fox News.Â
JD Vance’s big statement comes a day after President Donald Trump called the escalating tensions between the two countries ‘terrible’. When asked about his position, the 78-year-old added that he ‘gets along with both’.Â

Vance said that he and Trump are encouraging Pakistan and India to de-escalate, stating that the Indo-Pak matter is “fundamentally none of our business”, according to excerpts from the interview. “What we can do is try to encourage these folks to de-escalate a little bit”. His remarks followed the US President’s comments the previous day when he described the escalating Indo-Pak tensions as “terrible”, also mentioning that he “gets along with both”.Â
Vance also said that the US will not be getting involved in the middle of the Indo-Pak conflict. However, the US Vice President expressed America’s concern about a possible nuclear escalation.
“We are concerned about any time nuclear powers colliding and having a major conflict,” he said.
“We want this thing to de-escalate as quickly as possible. We can’t control these countries,” Vance added.
He also said that the United States will be pursuing the matter through diplomatic channels.Â
