8th Pay Commission Salary Estimates: What can be revised basic pays for Level 3 central govt employees at 1.92, 2.28, 2.57 and 2.86 fitment factors?

8th CPC Salary Estimates: Level 3 employees in the central government as per the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix hold positions at the lower level. But they are an important cog in the wheel of government departments and do basic-level jobs. Level 3 employees are lower division clerks, data entry operators (DEO) Grade A, junior secretariat assistants, constables in paramilitary forces, etc. They are Pay Band 1 (5200-20200) Grade Pay 2000 employees as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

Like many other central government employees, Level 3 employees have also been waiting for their salary revision in the 8th CPC.

The 8th Pay Commission that is yet to be formed will most likely decide the revised basic salaries on the basis of the fitment factor.

The fitment factor is a multiplier for salary and pension revision of central government employees.

For the 7th CPC, the fitment factor was 2.57. For the 8th Pay Commission, as per many expert opinions and projections, it may be in the range of 1.92 and 2.86.

If the 8th CPC fitment factor is 1.92, 2.28 or 2.57, and 2.86 then what may be the revised pay for Level 3 employees.  

Basic pays for Level 3 employees

In the table, you can see that there are as many as 22 basic pays. The starting basic pay for a Level 3 employee is Rs 21,700 and the subsequent basic pays are based on salary increments.
