Motilal Oswal Financial Services, BNP Paribas and HDFC Securities have thrown their weight behind four high-conviction stocks for the week starting July 21, 2025—Vishal Mega Mart, State Bank of India, Tata Motors and Voltas—citing growth catalysts, strategic maneuvers and valuation plays.
1) Vishal Mega Mart
Offline-value retail powerhouse Vishal Mega Mart operates 696 stores in 458 cities—72 per cent in Tier 2+ markets—and plans to add 100+ stores annually. Motilal Oswal highlights its strong metrics: 73 per cent private-label revenue, under-two-year payback, over-50 per cent ROCE and double-digit same-store sales growth. The brokerage forecasts FY25–28 revenue/EBITDA/PAT compound annual growth rates (CAGRs) of 19 / 20 / 24 per cent, backed by Rs 32 billion in expected operating cash flow.
2) State Bank of India
SBI has launched a Rs 25,000‑crore qualified institutional placement (QIP)—its first equity raise in eight years—at Rs 806.75–831.70, a 3 per cent discount to the July 16 NSE close. With a capital adequacy ratio of 14.25 per cent, a Rs 3.4 trillion credit pipeline and a conservative 69 per cent credit-deposit ratio, SBI is well-positioned for 12–13 per cent credit growth in FY26–27. Analysts expect a 5 per cent earnings CAGR through FY27, with expected returns on assets/equity at 1.0 / 15.6 per cent.
3) Tata Motors
BNP Paribas Securities has upgraded Tata Motors to “Outperform” with a target price of Rs 830, compared to its current market price of Rs 674.4. Using a blended EV/sales and P/E valuation—benchmarking Jaguar Land Rover against BMW and Mercedes—BNP Paribas points to solid EV traction and improving JLR margins as key upside triggers.
4) Voltas
HDFC Securities recommends a “Buy” on Voltas with a target price of Rs 1,420. Q4 results showed strong year-on-year revenue growth, with a cautious outlook for Q1 FY26. Despite cyclical softness, HDFC Securities believes Voltas’s fundamentals remain strong, supported by long-term demand in consumer durables.
With robust earnings, hefty capital plays and long-term sectoral tailwinds, analysts see VMM, SBI, Tata Motors and Voltas as top picks for the week. Investors with a high-growth orientation should watch these names closely.
