The Nifty 50 began Friday’s session subdued, opening 1,733.1 points below its all-time high of 26,277.35, as traders braced for a crucial last trading day of the week.

At the open, Trent, Bajaj Finance, NTPC, Hero MotoCorp, and Titan Company emerged among the top gainers on the benchmark index. On the flip side, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, Hindalco, HCL Tech, and Axis Bank saw early losses.
Sector-wise, media and oil & gas indices gained around 0.5 per cent each, while the IT index slipped 0.5 per cent. Broader markets remained muted, with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices trading flat.

Market experts say crossing the 24,600 mark will be critical for the Nifty 50 to extend Thursday’s minor gains. Selling pressure at higher levels throughout the week has kept upside momentum in check.
Earnings-heavy session
Q1 results that are in focus today are LIC, HPCL, Godrej Consumer Products, Titan, Sun TV, Kalyan Jewellers, Apollo Tyres, and Ramco Cements are reacting to their earnings.
Companies set to announce results include Tata Motors, SBI, Voltas, Info Edge India, Siemens, Grasim Industries, Wockhardt, Garden Reach Shipbuilders, PTC Industries, Afcons Infrastructure, DOMS Industries, Concord Biotech, PG Electroplast, IFICI, Genus Power, Lemon Tree Hotels, Star Cement, Power Mech Projects, Shipping Corporation of India, JK Tyre, Garware Technical Fibres, and Bajel Projects.
