Telecom services have been disrupted as rain continues in regions like Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh. Continuous rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir has led to a sharp rise in water levels of several rivers and streams, triggering flash floods in parts of the Jammu region.
Meanwhile, Air India issued a travel advisory on Wednesday due to adverse weather conditions, which caused the closure of Leh Airport’s runway and resulted in flight cancellations on August 27.
In these challenging times, staying connected is more important than ever, an Airtel spokesperson told Zee Business.

To support its customers, Airtel is introducing special measures:Â
– Prepaid customers whose plans are expiring this week will receive a 3-day extension with unlimited calls and 1GB of data per day, even if they are unable to recharge.
– Postpaid and broadband customers will get a 3-day grace period on bill payments to ensure uninterrupted services.
– Intra-Circle Roaming (ICR) has been enabled in Jammu, Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh so customers can stay connected through other available networks.
“Our teams are working tirelessly on the ground to restore services at the earliest. Airtel stands with the people of these regions and remains committed to keeping them connected, the spokesperson further said.
Air India shared a post on X which read, “Due to adverse weather conditions, the runway at Leh Airport is currently closed, impacting flight operations. Consequently, our scheduled flights to and from Leh on 27 August stand cancelled.”
“If your booking is affected by this disruption, please contact your travel agent or reach out to our 24×7 contact centre on the following numbers to explore alternative flight options or to cancel your booking with full refund: +91 116 932 9333 +91 116 932 9999.
