Global cues remain mixed. Asian markets were mostly in the green after the SCO summit in Tianjin, though tariff tensions persist following a US court ruling against most of Trump-era global tariffs. Japan’s Nikkei rose 0.31 per cent, South Korea’s Kospi added 0.45 per cent, and China’s Shanghai Composite edged up 0.04 per cent, while Australia’s ASX 200 slipped 0.41 per cent.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s claim that India has agreed to remove tariffs on US goods to “nothing” added to geopolitical buzz ahead of today’s session.

Wall Street remained closed overnight due to Labor Day.
