Stock Market Opening Bell: Indian stock markets opened higher today, supported by strong buying in key stocks including JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, M&M, Wipro, Adani Enterprises, and Eicher Motors.
The benchmark BSE Sensex was trading at 80,926, up 216 points or 0.27 per cent, while the Nifty 50 index stood at 24,802, rising 61 points or 0.25 per cent in early trade.
Broader market indices also showed strength, with the Nifty MidCap index gaining 0.4 per cent and the Nifty SmallCap index adding 0.35 per cent.
Nifty Metal index was the top sectoral gainer, rising over 1.1 per cent, followed by Nifty Auto, Realty, Media, PSU Banks, Oil & Gas, and FMCG. On the other hand, Nifty Pharma, and Consumer Durables were trading in red.
