Actor Priyanka Chopra could not hide her excitement and joy as 15-year-old Owen Cooper had a big win at Emmys 2025. Priyanka Chopra was quick to take to Instagram, to share a video of Owen as he received the Emmy Award for his impressive performance in Adolescence. She shared the post with a caption that featured emojis that beautifully captured her pride and joy over Cooper’s historic win. Owen Cooper defeated five adult nominees to the trophy. This also included his co-star Ashley Walters, along with Javier Bardem, Bill Camp, Peter Sarsgaard and Rob Delaney.

How has Owen Cooper created history?

Owen Cooper, a teenager, features in the Netflix drama Adolescence. He has bagged the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or TV Movie. The viewers lauded Cooper as he went up to the stage to thank his parents, Adolescence cast and crew. With his recent win, Cooper has been successful in breaking Michael A. Goorjian’s record. Goorjian was just 23 when he emerged as the youngest winner in the category in 1994.

What did Owen Cooper say at Emmys 2025?

“Honestly, when I started these drama classes a couple of years ago, I didn’t expect to be in the United States, never mind here, but I think tonight proves that if you listen, focus, and step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life. I was nothing three years ago, and I’m here now. Who cares if you get embarrassed? Anything is possible,” Cooper said. As reported by Deadline, Owen Cooper was successful in surpassing Scott Jacoby’s record as the youngest male actor to bag an Emmy in any acting category. Jacoby was barely 16 when he emerged as a winner in 1973 for The Certain Summer.
