Many of us face storage issues on our Gmail accounts, due to which we often get notifications like storage is full and emails need to be deleted, or buy Gmail storage to continue getting new emails. Gmail provides 15 GB of free space on each account. This includes storage of Google Drive, Photos, and Gmail itself. The Gmail storage is full mainly because of promotional emails with long attachments, newsletters with heavy attachments, and other personal data. When we subscribe to something of our interest, we don’t realise about Gmail storage and then end up struggling with space issues. If you are one of them facing such a problem, here are a few tricks that may help you free up space in minutes without deleting important emails.
1) First of all, check out what is taking up space
If your Gmail storage is full, you should first check what is taking up the space. If you go to Google Storage, you will see the breakdown of your usage. If the Photos or Drive are taking up maximum space, then try to delete whatever is not needed.
2) The second thing is to check out large emails and attachments
In the storage breakup, you will also find the large emails. You can also go to the search bar and type ‘larger: 10M’ to find emails bigger than 10MB. Now, delete the emails that are no longer needed. Also, keep deleting emails from the Trash.

3) To get more space, unsubscribe from promotional emails
When we go out somewhere or we make an account on any website, we are often required to fill up our email address. Then we keep getting such promotional emails. Now, it’s time to unsubscribe from them as we hardly read any of them. Along with unsubscribing, delete previous emails that might have large attachments.
4) Sent and spam folders
Sent and spam folders also take big space. For this, you can go to the search box and type ‘in:sent has: attachment’. In his way you will find a lot of emails you’ve previously sent that are not relevant anymore but are still taking up a lot of space.
