Apollo Tyres has replaced Dream11 as the official jersey sponsor of the Indian cricket team, signing a three-year contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The agreement, which runs until 2027, follows the termination of BCCI’s association with the fantasy sports platform after new restrictions on online money gaming.
Landmark sponsorship deal
“Under the new arrangement, Apollo Tyres will pay the BCCI Rs 4.5 crore per international match – higher than the Rs 4 crore Dream11 contributed earlier,” one of the sources said. With India expected to play around 130 games during the contract period, the deal is among the most valuable jersey sponsorships in Indian cricket.
As part of the agreement, Apollo Tyres will hold title sponsor rights for all bilateral and ICC matches, covering both men’s and women’s teams, at home and abroad. The company’s logo will be displayed on the front and leading arm of the official jersey. JK Tyre and Canva also submitted bids, while Birla Opus Paints showed interest but did not formally participate in the auction process.

Dream11 deal cut short
Dream11 had been India’s lead sponsor since 2023, when it replaced Byju’s. Its agreement with the BCCI was meant to last three years but was terminated after the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, became law in August.
The legislation, signed by President Droupadi Murmu, prohibits online money gaming platforms and their advertising. It also formally recognises e-sports and online social games, giving them legal backing for the first time.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the decision to end the Dream11 contract, saying the board would avoid associations with companies linked to betting or money gaming in the future.
First major cricket sponsorship for Apollo
Neeraj Kanwar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Apollo Tyres, called the deal an “honour”, saying it represents national pride and strengthens consumer trust while supporting Indian sport at the highest level.
BCCI secretary Saikia said Apollo’s arrival as the new sponsor was more than a commercial agreement, describing it as a partnership between two institutions that command the trust and respect of millions. The Indian cricket team are currently playing without a jersey sponsor in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.
