Stock Market Closing Bell: Indian equity benchmarks ended Thursday’s session with healthy gains after the US Federal Reserve cut its key rate by 25 basis points to the 4–4.25 per cent range.
The BSE Sensex climbed 320.25 points, or 0.39 per cent, to close at 83,013.96. The NSE Nifty50 ended at 25,423.60, up 93.35 points, or 0.37 per cent.
Among Sensex heavyweights, Eternal, Sun Pharma, Infosys, HDFC Bank and Power Grid Corporation gained up to 2.89 per cent. In contrast, Bajaj Finance, Trent, Tata Motors, UltraTech Cement and Asian Paints shed up to 1.03 per cent.

In the broader market, the Nifty Midcap100 and Smallcap100 indices advanced 0.38 per cent and 0.29 per cent, respectively. Sectorally, healthcare and pharmaceuticals outperformed, with the Nifty Pharma index rising 1.33 per cent and the Nifty Healthcare index climbing 1.50 per cent.
Market breadth remained positive, with 1,606 stocks advancing on the NSE, 1,426 declining and 102 ending flat. The total market capitalisation of NSE-listed firms stood at $5.25 trillion.
