With Tata Capital and LG Electronics’ India unit expected to bring blockbuster IPOs in the coming months, investors are reviewing the IPO performance of 2025. The year has already seen a flurry of listings, producing both stellar wealth creators and sharp wealth destroyers.

Notable debut pops

Some companies rewarded investors with strong listing day gains. Urban Co. Ltd. was the most striking, jumping 62% on debut and maintaining those gains. Highway Infrastructure Ltd. soared 72.5 per cent on day one, though it later cooled off.

Painful losses

Not all IPOs have been winners.

– Gem Aromatics Ltd. is down 28 per cent from its issue price.

– Arisinfra Solutions Ltd. has been the worst performer, losing 33 per cent since listing.

– Jaro Institute of Technology Management & Research Ltd. fell 16 per cent on debut and continues to struggle.

– Mangal Electrical Industries Ltd. and Capital Infra Trust also delivered double-digit losses.

Sector trends

Financial services IPOs (NSDL, Aditya Infotech, Knowledge Realty Trust, HDB Financial) have largely outperformed, giving double-digit to near 100 per cent returns.

Energy and renewables (Ather Energy, Solarworld, Saatvik Green Energy, Vikram Solar) have been mixed, with some stocks soaring and others slipping below issue price.

Consumer-focused plays like Bluestone Jewellery and Shanti Gold International delivered healthy 8–16 per cent gains.
