SpiceJet has announced the addition of three new aircraft to its operational fleet, marking the start of the airline’s major winter expansion. The three new additions include one Airbus A340 wide-body and two Boeing 737s, joining the operations between October 10 and October 11 as part of a major fleet ramp-up to meet the surging air travel demand this holiday season.
SpiceJet’s winter expansion plan:
The airline said in a press release that a total of 20 dump-leased aircraft will join the fleet between October and November, with four ungrounded aircraft to join by mid-December.
Aiming to significantly scale up its operations this winter, the new inductions will more than double SpiceJet’s fleet and will triple that of the airline’s available seat kilometres (ASKMs), introducing new routes, increasing flight frequencies, and adding exciting destinations across its network.

Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet, said, “This is just the beginning of a large-scale expansion that will redefine SpiceJet’s operations this winter. With every new induction, we are strengthening our operational capabilities, opening new routes, and ensuring greater convenience and connectivity for our passengers across India and beyond.”
He further added, “These new inductions will more than double our operational fleet and triple our ASKM by December 2025. Our fleet expansion reflects the robust travel demand we are witnessing and our readiness to meet it with confidence.”
SpiceJet’s daily flights to Port Blair and Udaipur:
On Wednesday, SpiceJet announced daily flights to India’s two most popular winter getaway destinations, Port Blair and Udaipur, as part of its ambitious winter expansion plan.
Flights to Port Blair have already commenced, while daily non-stop flights to Udaipur will begin from November 6, 2025.
The airline has specified that flight operations to Port Blair from Kolkata will have seamless and non-stop connectivity, while passengers boarding from Delhi will have to make a short stopover at Kolkata. However, the Delhi–Port Blair service is a direct connection with no aircraft change.
SpiceJet is an IATA-IOSA certified airline that operates a fleet of Boeing 737s & Q-400s. The airline operates multiple daily flights under UDAN or the Regional Connectivity Scheme. The majority of the airline’s fleet offers SpiceMax, spacious economy-class seating.
