This clearly means that Ola will no longer be limited to electric scooters, but is now entering new areas of energy and technology. However, the company has not yet clarified what this product will be.
Meanwhile, shares of Ola Electric Mobility closed at Rs 50.1 each, down 0.4 per cent on BSE today, October 14.
Ola Electric now focuses on the ‘energy ecosystem’
Ola Electric is now moving towards becoming not just a vehicle company, but an energy tech firm. The company is already investing in sectors like battery cell manufacturing, charging networks, and energy storage.
Ola has taken several new initiatives in the last few months:
Announcement to build the world’s largest EV gigafactory in Tamil Nadu.
Focus on in-house battery cell production.
A network of more than 1,000 fast charging points is ready.
Now the company’s next step could be to bring some innovation towards making power consumption smart and efficient.
