On November 3, BTS’s Jungkook opened up about his thoughts on holding a solo concert during a nearly six-hour live broadcast on fan community Weverse on November 3 KST. The live broadcast was titled Hello, This Is Ian.
BTS’ maknae Jeon Jungkook has been busy preparing for the group comeback since he came back from military service, but now that they have finished recording, Jungkook had a 6-hour live broadcast on the fan community platform Weverse where engaged in games, impromptu live singing, watching YouTube videos together, and even a mukbang, connecting with over 11.1 million viewers in real time. However, when a live commercial for J-Hope’s solo concert appeared, the mood shifted.
Jungkook thoughts on having a solo concert
Jungkook voiced out after seeing J-Hope’s solo concert commercial, “I’ll be able to do a solo concert someday, too, right?” before letting out a deep sigh. Jungkook had a solo concert called GOLDEN Live On Stage on November 20, 2023. SUGA, J-Hope, and Jin are the only BTS members who have been on solo concert tours. Other members have released solo music and performed at various events, but have not yet had a full solo tour.

Jungkook’s one statement instantly caused an uproar in the global fandom. Real-time reactions began pouring in, with many criticising the agency. Meanwhile, Jungkook enlisted in the military in December 2023 and was discharged in June of this year. Since then, he has focused on preparing for group activities rather than solo activities. He recently appeared as a guest with J-Hope at Jin’s encore concert, showcasing his live performances.
