Air Force Day: President Murmu, PM Modi extend wishes to Air Warriors

Air Force Day: India is celebrating the 93rd anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF) today, October 8. The day commemorates the anniversary of the IAF and honours the sacrifices made by the Air Force personnel.

On this occasion, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have extended heartfelt greetings through their social media platforms.

President Murmu lauds IAF on Air Force Day:

Extending her greetings to all air warriors, veterans and their families on Air Force Day, President Murmu said that the wing has always demonstrated courage, commitment, and excellence.

Prez Murmu lauded the IAF and said the air warriors protect our skies and serve the nation with tireless dedication during disasters and humanitarian missions. 

“Our Air Force has made the nation proud with its strength and readiness to face every challenge. I extend my best wishes to the Indian Air Force for success in all future endeavours”, Prez Murmu said.

PM Modi extends his greetings on Air Force Day:

PM Modi wished all the courageous air warriors and their families on Air Force Day through his official X account. 

“The Indian Air Force epitomises bravery, discipline and precision”, the post read.

PM Modi praised their role during natural calamities and said that the IAF’s commitment, professionalism and indomitable spirit continue to make every Indian proud.

Rahul Gandhi wishes on Air Force Day:

Rahul Gandhi, leader of the opposition, Lok Sabha, also wished the IAF on this occasion through his social media post.

“Your courage in safeguarding our skies and unwavering dedication inspire us all. We honour your unparalleled valour, sacrifices, and selfless service to the nation”, the Lok Sabha LoP said.

Air Force Day:

Air Force Day is celebrated every year on October 8 to observe the anniversary of the IAF wing and to commemorate its sacrifices, bravery, and valour in protecting India’s security.

The 93rd Air Force Day celebrations were marked with grand ceremonies at Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad, including aerial displays by fighter jets and a tribute to retired MiG-21 Bison aircraft.
