After the incident at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, Air India on Sunday announced the temporary suspension of its operations to and from the Israeli city, effective immediately through May 6, 2025.
The airline cited safety and security of its passengers and crew as the primary reason for this decision.
According to the airline, the decision was made “consequent to developments in Tel Aviv this morning,” and is being taken as a precautionary measure.
“Our operations to and from Tel Aviv will remain suspended with immediate effect till 6th May 2025, to ensure the safety of our customers and staff,” Air India said. “Our colleagues on ground are assisting customers and helping them with alternative arrangements.”
Air India’s spokesperson elaborated that flight AI139 from Delhi to Tel Aviv on May 3 was diverted to Abu Dhabi following the incident.
“The flight has landed normally in Abu Dhabi and will soon return to Delhi,” the spokesperson confirmed. “Customers booked on our flights with valid tickets between 3 and 6 May 2025 will be offered a one-time waiver on rescheduling or full refunds for cancellation.”
The airline emphasised that all affected passengers are being supported by its ground teams to make necessary travel adjustments.
Reassuring its commitment to passenger safety, Air India reiterated, “The safety of our customers and crew remains top priority.”
