Apart from angel investors, venture capitalists, and individual investors, Bollywood stars have also shown interest in Indian startups. Renowned personalities such as Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Alia Bhatt, Suniel Shetty, and Shilpa Shetty have already invested in some of the startups. These celebrities’ interest in Indian startups is increasing because of their rapid growth. Some of them have bet on unicorn companies like Mamaearth and Nykaa. Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt invested in an environmental tech startup, Phool.co, in 2017. This is a Kanpur-based firm that sells scented candles, incense sticks, diffusers, candle holders, essential oils, and other such items.

Sonu Sood
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood participated in the Series B round of Noida-based Spice Money, a rural fintech company. Sood is also a brand ambassador of this company.

Deepika Padukone
Padukone invested $7.1 million in the Series A round of Nua, an online platform offering organic female hygiene products. She was also introduced as the face of the brand.

Suniel Shetty
Mumbai-headquartered beverages company Aquatein received angel funding from Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty. 

Anushka Sharma
Sharma has made several investments in the last few years. In 2022, she invested in D2C brands Slurrp Farm and Blue Tribe in 2022. 

Shah Rukh Khan
The King Khan of Bollywood invested in KidZania, Red Chillies VFX, and other companies.

Bengaluru-headquartered D2C health tech firm Kapiva received investment from Bollywood actor Malaika Arora. 

Ranveer Singh
Singh has put money into D2C brand Bold Care, an online pharmacy platform. He is also a brand ambassador for this brand.

Katrina Kaif
Kaif invested in e-commerce company Nykaa that sells beauty, fashion, and wellness products online.
