Bank Holidays in September 2025: Bank customers will face two three-day holidays in September 2025, with bank branches in several states closed from Sunday, September 21 to Tuesday, September 23, and from Sunday, September 28 to Tuesday, September 30.
Navratra Sthapna holiday on September 22
On September 22, banks will remain closed on September 22 in Jaipur to mark the beginning of Navratri to invoke Goddess Shakti.
Id-E-Milad/Milad-un-Nabi or Id-e Milad closures on September 5
According to the official holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India, banks will be closed in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada on September 5 on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad/Milad-un-Nabi or Eid-e-Milad.

Total August closures
In total, banks in various states will remain closed for about 15 days in September 2025, factoring in weekends, second and fourth Saturdays, and major festivals like Navratra, Id-E-Milad, and Onam.
Online services unaffected
While physical branches will remain closed during these days, customers can continue to use ATMs, internet banking, mobile apps, and UPI services without interruption, except in rare cases of scheduled maintenance.
