Weddings and hospitality are interrelated. Every year, the wedding season in India brings opportunities for not just hoteliers but also for other professionals like makeup artists. Everyone who is getting married wants to feel good, and they spend as much as they can. According to a report by brokerage Jefferies, Indians spend nearly double their expenditure on weddings compared to education. The average spending on an Indian wedding is around Rs 10-50 lakh, according to a separate report.

According to Zee Business research, as the Indian wedding season approaches in November and December 2025, hotels may experience a surge in bookings. In comparison with last year, 2025 is anticipated to see a 20-25 per cent hike in demand, the research says. Moreover, this year, people are focusing on getting married in India instead of abroad.

Favourite locations for destination weddings

According to Zee Business research, the favourite locations for destination weddings in India are:

  • Jaipur
  • Udaipur
  • Rishikesh
  • Shimla
  • Jodhpur

Apart from the above locations, bookings are increasing in Goa and Jim Corbett. People are also liking Delhi NCR.

This year, wedding queries increased from 70-80 to 200.

Wedding auspicious time

This year, the wedding season commences from November 2025 and continues until February 2026.

Banquet halls & hotels

Banquet Halls & hotels account for around 5 per cent of total wedding expenses. On average, hotels are increasing room rents by 10 per cent.

Hotel shares to focus

The Zee Business research says that companies like Lemon Tree Hotels, ITC Hotels, Royal Orchid, Indian Hotels, Taj GVK, Kamat Hotels, ITDC, and Park Hotels may benefit from these wedding trends during that time.
