Canon India launches EOS C50, unveils full creator-to-cinema ecosystem at Broadcast India Show 2025

Canon India has introduced the EOS C50, its latest digital cinema camera, along with a complete ecosystem designed for creators and filmmakers at the Broadcast India Show 2025 in Mumbai. The new launch reflects Canon’s focus on bridging professional video production with the fast-growing creator and OTT landscape in India.

Held at the Jio World Convention Centre, the show brought together global and Indian leaders from media, broadcast and content creation. Canon’s booth, among the most interactive at the event, recreated a real production set with live demonstrations, virtual studio workflows and hands-on shooting zones.

Compact camera, cinematic performance

At the heart of Canon’s showcase was the EOS C50 – a compact cinema camera that packs professional-grade performance in a smaller frame. Built as part of Canon’s Cinema EOS range, the camera is aimed at creators working across OTT, broadcast and film, offering mobility without compromising on image quality.

Alongside the C50, Canon also displayed its latest lineup for every stage of video creation, from the EOS R50V for content creators and vloggers to the EOS R5 Mark II for hybrid shooters, and high-end models like the C400 and C80 for professional filmmaking.

Speaking at the launch, Toshiaki Nomura, President and CEO of Canon India, said the Broadcast India Show offered the right platform to highlight Canon’s innovation for the country’s growing creator economy.

This year’s Broadcast India Show marks an important milestone in our video-first journey as we unveil the EOS C50 for the first time in India, alongside our Cinema EOS and PTZ camera range.”

Celebrating cinema and collaboration

The booth was inaugurated by acclaimed cinematographers and Canon Cinema EOS Ambassadors Kiran Deohans, ISC, and Sudeep Chatterjee, ISC, both known for their contribution to Indian cinema through films like Jodhaa Akbar, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Padmaavat and Gangubai Kathiawadi. Their association with the launch underlined Canon’s longstanding collaboration with India’s creative industry.

Canon also showcased its partnerships with global technology brands including Aputure, EIZO, Sennheiser, SanDisk, Atomos, Mo-Sys and PROTECH. These tie-ups came to life through working setups such as cinematic news studios, virtual production systems and AR/VR applications, powered by Canon’s North Star Studio Solutions for sectors including education, sports and corporate broadcasting.
