The Central Industrial Security Force on Monday, September 22, 2025 assumed charge of aviation security at the upcoming Noida International Airport. The move, announced in an official press release, is being seen as a major step towards readying the greenfield facility for its commercial launch next month.
CISF deployment begins
With this induction, Noida International Airport becomes the 70th airport in India to come under CISF cover. In the first phase, 1,047 personnel have been sanctioned for deployment under the command of a Chief Aerodrome Security Officer (CASO). The deployment strength will be scaled up as passenger traffic and flight operations expand. The CISF will be responsible for a wide range of security duties, from access and perimeter control to passenger and baggage checks. Its role also covers the terminal and landside areas, deployment of Quick Response Teams and close coordination with Uttar Pradesh Police and other agencies.
The induction ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Government of Uttar Pradesh, CISF, and Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL).
