The FASTag Annual Pass — a special offering by national highways authority NHAI — has crosses the milestone of five lakh users within just four days of its launch. Implemented at about 1,150 toll plazas on National Highways and Expressways, FASTag Annual Pass has received an overwhelming response from highway users in the country.
Till 7 pm on the first day of implementation, around 1.4 lakh users purchased and activated the annual pass, with around 1.39 lakh transactions recorded on toll plazas.
Tamil Nadu led in pass activations and transactions, followed by Karnataka and Haryana, while Andhra Pradesh also featured prominently in the toll transaction rankings, according to a statements by NHAI.
Simultaneously, mobile app Rajmargyatra —through which the pass is being distributed —has swiftly climbed to the #23 overall ranking on Google Play Store, and #2 in the Travel category, boasting over 15 lakh downloads and a 4.5-star rating, according to the highways regulator.
What is FASTag? What is it used for?
Launched as a seamless and economical alternative to frequent recharges, the FASTag Annual Pass, provides one-year validity or up to 200 toll-plaza crossings on National Highways and Expressways, whichever is earlier.
The FASTag Annual Pass comes at a price of Rs 3,000.
This one-time annual fee replaces repetitive toll charges for non-commercial private vehicles and activates within two hours of payment via the Rajmargyatra App or the NHAI website, according to NHAI.

Does the FASTag need to be affixed on the windshield?
The pass must be properly affixed.
Tags not placed securely cannot activate the pass.
