Recently, a post on the social media platform X took over the internet, setting an example of grit and determination.
Harshil Tomar, an Indian techie, shared on his social media that he was allegedly fired from a US-based remote job on March 13, for ‘focusing too much’ on his startup, as per them.
The post started with, “Exactly 6 Months ago, I was fired from my US remote full-time job”.

“I begged them to give me another chance”: Tomar
Tomar, describing his struggle in the post, said that he begged the company to give him a second chance so that he could do better work and at a faster pace, but the company did not revise their decision.
“At that point Dreamlaunch was doing USD 1000/month roughly, and the money wasn’t enough to give me the confidence to go all in.”, the post read.
From being in a confused state for 10-15 days and having 9 months of total runway if lived super cheaply, Tomar finally decided to go all in.
“So I took my call. Let’s go all in! In the worst case, I will find some freelance gigs and make $1000/mo from them so life could always keep running”, he said.
“We started on this journey, I started with a small salary from going full-time. My co-founder (@WasimShips) suggested this and he did not withdraw any finance to help ensure I stay afloat”
According to the post, Tomar did not inform his family as he believed that families can be “pretty scary to deal with in such situations”.
