Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo says she used every single “creature comfort” item she packed in her hospital bags ahead of the birth of her daughter Colette Annalise McCaffrey.
Her comment follows her being “roasted” after sharing the elaborate contents of her hospital bags in a TikTok video ahead of her daughter’s birth.
Culpo, 33, and NFL star husband Christian McCaffrey, 29, welcomed their first child via caesarean birth on July 13.

The model and influencer is now home with her baby girl after a spending almost a week in hospital recovering.
She shared a photo showing her in a dimly lit bedroom with the battery-controlled candles from her hospital bag now having found a new permanent place.
”Look what I still couldn’t part ways with,” she wrote on an Instagram Story. “These really have been AMAZING post c section.”
She then said: “I got roasted a little for what I packed but I ended up using it ALL. When you’re recovering from a C-section and stuck in the hospital for 3-4+ days, having your creature comforts is no joke.”

Culpo then posted a link to the original TikTok video posted on July 11 in which she takes her viewers through each and every item.
“Sharing in case it helps another comfort queen,” she said.
In fact it took two hospital bags to fit in all the items Culpo brought to hospital with her, including her favourite pillows and comforters, which can be seen tucked around her and her baby girl in the photos shared following her daughter’s birth.
“I am such a pillow snob, so I knew that I was going to need specific pillows,” she said in the video.
“It’s just, like, a me thing. I don’t know what the hospital pillows are like, but I am not taking my chances. I need to get my beauty sleep. I’m gonna be a mom!”
She also packed sleep masks, aromatherapy spray, mini fans and her flameless candles.
Also in her hospital bags, pajamas, makeup, haircare, skincare and breastfeeding products.
“A lot of this stuff is more luxuries as opposed to essentials,” Culpo said.

“And I’m aware of that. I thought I would make my hospital stay more comfortable.”
Fans were quick to poke fun at Culpo for the contents of her hospital bags.
”Mother of five here – all you need is the epidural and an entire chocolate cake after, truth,” one said.
“OLIVIA ARE YOU MOVING TO THE HOSPITAL,” another said.
“Beauty sleep in the hospital with a newborn. Bless your heart!!” added another.
“A physical photo in a frame of your dog!” said another.
Others were more understanding.
“As a labor nurse… literally bring whatever you want, comfort is important especially if you have a C-section and have a longer hospital stay!” one said.
Culpo has since responded: “I ended up being there for four days and I’m so grateful I was comfortable.”
”Girl pack what you wanna pack! Ignore the comments haha and enjoy this new season as much as you can!” said another.
“Everyone hating on the flickering candles hasn’t given birth LOL having mine made my room so much more peaceful!!! Do you mama you’ve got this!” one wrote.
Culpo responded: “I have no regrets 😂 I loved them so much I have them in my bedroom now.
“The remote control is game changing especially after C-section because you can’t move.”

She later added more thoughts about the candles.
“I am SOOOOOO happy I had these 😭 They come with a remote control.. I had a C-section so I couldn’t get up to turn on or off the lights (which are horrible and fluorescent anyway).
“I wanted to be able to see the baby at night etc. No one will ever convince me these were a bad idea I’m sorry.”

Another of Culpo’s TikTok followers said: “My family laughed at me for over packing my hospital bag(s) and I used almost everything I packed and the couple things I didn’t use, I’m still glad I packed them because it made me feel prepared!”
Culpo and McCaffrey tied the knot on June 29, 2024, in a lavish ceremony held at Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island in the US.
The couple were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend in 2019.
