Oil marketing PSUs Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum have raised the prices of commercial-use LPG — or cooking gas — with effect from 6 am on October 1. However, the rates of domestic-use cooking gas were left unchanged. The three state-run OMCs review the rates periodically with any changes implemented from the first day of every month.Â

After the latest revision, the prices stand as follows: Rs 1,595.5 per 19-kg refill in New Delhi, Rs 1,700.5 in Kolkata, Rs 1,547 in Mumbai, and Rs 1,754.5 in Chennai, according to the IOCL website. That marks an increase of Rs 15.5 in the national capital. Â

Commercial LPG rates apply to businesses — such as restaurants, hotels and catering service providers. These refills come in 19-kg units.
The October 1 hike follows four consecutive cuts in the commercial LPG rates.Â

No relief yet for households; 14.2 kg refill price remains unchanged
Domestic LPG prices, however, remain unchanged for yet another month.
The cost of a 14.2 kg household cylinder is still the same across major metros:
- Delhi: Rs 853Â
- Mumbai: Rs 852.5Â
- Kolkata: Rs 879Â
- Chennai: Rs 868.5Â
These are the non-subsidised rates for domestic-use cooking gas.Â
Which factors impact LPG price revisions?
Currently, oil marketing companies — Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum — review domestic and commercial LPG rates from time to time, aligning them with international benchmark rates and forex rates from the beginning of every month.
Aviation turbine fuel prices raised
The three PSUs also revised the jet fuel prices.
After the revision, domestic airlines will have to shell out Rs 93,766.02 per KL for jet fuel in the national capital, marking an increase of Rs 3,052.5.Â
