‘Garv se kahen…’: 3 reasons why Arunachal visit is special for PM

GST 2.0 has come into effect from today, September 22, and on this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged everyone to celebrate it as a grand “GST Bachat Utsav.” He said that it will benefit the poor, middle class, women, farmers, traders, and entrepreneurs. Addressing a massive public gathering at the Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar after laying the foundation stone for 13 development projects worth over Rs 5,127 crore in Arunachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi shared the slogan with the crowd, “Garv se kahen, yeh swadeshi hai.”

Prime Minister Modi said that the GST ‘Savings Festival’ will be a memorable milestone for the people and urged the crowd to raise their hands with mobile flashlights, and thousands responded enthusiastically.

Before attending the main event at Indira Gandhi Park, the Prime Minister visited an exhibition and interacted with local traders, craftsmen, and artisans. Local products were displayed in the exhibition.

PM Modi’s 3 Special Reasons to Visit Arunachal Pradesh:

The Prime Minister on Monday described his visit to Arunachal Pradesh as special for three different reasons, saying

  • Firstly, he had the privilege of seeing the beautiful mountain ranges on the auspicious first day of Navratri.
  • Second, he announced the implementation of next-generation GST reforms across the country and the launch of the GST ‘Savings festival.’ Prime Minister said that citizens have received double benefits during the festive season.
  • Thirdly, he highlighted the inauguration of several development projects in various sectors, including power, connectivity, tourism and health in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Prime Minister said that this reflects the dual benefit of the Central and State Governments and he heartily congratulated the people of Arunachal Pradesh for these projects. He said that GST ‘Savings Festival’ will bring happiness, prosperity and success to the people of India.

Acknowledging the large turnout of women present on the occasion and once again congratulating them for the GST ‘Bachat Utsav’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised that they will benefit significantly from the next generation GST reforms.
