HAL Dividend 2025: Navratna PSU stock jumps 17% YTD ahead of final payout; key dates and investor details inside

HAL Dividend Payout: Shares of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) are in focus after the state-owned defence major announced that its board will meet on June 27 to consider a final dividend payout for FY25. This development comes on the back of a strong 17 per cent rally in HAL’s share price so far in 2025, making it one of the top-performing PSU compounder stocks this year.

HAL final dividend: What investors should know

In a regulatory filing on June 19, HAL informed exchanges that the board of directors will consider the final dividend for FY25 on June 27, 2025. The record date for the dividend is yet to be announced, and will be communicated after the board approval.

So far in FY25, HAL has already declared an interim dividend of Rs 25 per share on February 18, 2025. In the previous fiscal year, HAL declared Rs 35 per share in total dividends Rs 22 interim and Rs 13 final.

HAL dividend history: Consistent payouts

HAL has been a consistent dividend payer, rewarding shareholders annually since its listing. Here’s a quick snapshot of its recent dividend history:

  • Feb 2025 (Interim): Rs 25/share

  • Aug 2024 (Final): Rs 13/share

  • Feb 2024 (Interim): Rs 22/share

  • Aug 2023 (Final): Rs 15/share

  • Mar 2023 (Interim): Rs 20/share

Back in August 2023, the company also split its shares in a 1:2 ratio, reducing the face value from Rs 10 to Rs 5.

HAL Q4 earnings

Despite the dividend buzz, HAL’s Q4FY25 performance was subdued. The company reported a 7.8 per cent year-on-year fall in net profit to Rs 3,958 crore, while revenue slipped 7.2 per cent to Rs 13,700 crore.

EBITDA also declined by 10.2 per cent YoY to Rs 5,292 crore, and margins contracted by 140 basis points. Analysts, however, continue to remain bullish on HAL due to its robust order pipeline.

The company is reportedly targeting an order book of up to Rs 2.6 lakh crore by FY26, driven by strong demand for indigenous defence equipment, including the Tejas fighter jets and advanced helicopters.

HAL market cap and 52-week range

Market Capitalisation: ~Rs 3.28 lakh crore

52-week high: Rs 5,674.75

52-week low: Rs 3,046.05

Market Outlook

At 10:30 AM on June 20, HAL shares were trading at Rs 4,927.60, up 0.56 per cent on the NSE. Investors are closely watching the June 27 board meeting for cues on the final dividend amount and record date, which could trigger further upside in the stock.

With HAL already offering high dividends and strong long-term defence tailwinds, the final FY25 dividend announcement could act as a short-term trigger. Investors with a focus on high-dividend PSU stocks may want to keep this date on their radar.
