Hyundai Motor India is set to launch the new-generation Venue on October 4, according to Zee Business sources. The compact SUV, which has been one of the company’s strongest performers in the Indian market, will undergo a major update aimed at strengthening its position against rivals such as the Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor.
Creta-inspired design changes
The upcoming Venue will borrow key design elements from Hyundai’s larger SUVs, particularly the Creta. Zee Business sources report that the new model could feature a wider grille, sharper LED headlamps and redesigned bumpers. Spy shots have hinted at a split-lamp arrangement and a sleeker lighting signature across the front fascia.
More comfort in the second row
Rear-seat comfort is expected to improve significantly. According to sources, Hyundai has reworked the interior to offer more legroom and headroom in the second row, addressing one of the main concerns with the current model. The upgrade could also include sliding and reclining seat functionality, a feature rarely seen in this segment. Sources suggest that higher trims could get a dual 10.25-inch display set-up for the infotainment system and instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting and a 360-degree camera. There is also talk of advanced driver assistance features (ADAS) being introduced, although Hyundai has not confirmed this officially.

Engine options expected to continue
Under the bonnet, the Venue is expected to retain its existing engine options:
1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol
1.0-litre turbo petrol
1.5-litre diesel
These are likely to be paired with manual, automatic or dual-clutch transmission choices, depending on the variant. While no major mechanical changes are reported, Hyundai may fine-tune the engines for better efficiency.
