India has officially submitted its bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games (CWG) at the Commonwealth Sport (CS) office in London. The delegation was led by Gujarat Sports Minister Harsh Sanghavi, in the presence of officials from the Gujarat government and the Commonwealth Games Association (CGA), India.
The move came just days after the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the proposal by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to submit the bid.
The Cabinet also cleared signing of the Host Collaboration Agreement (HCA) and assured necessary guarantees, including a grant-in-aid to the Gujarat state government, should India’s bid be successful.
