Japan’s Kubota Corporation will invest Rs 2,000 crore in Haryana in partnership with Escorts, following a meeting between Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and senior company executives at Kubota’s tractor plant in Osaka, reported by ANI. The announcement came during Saini’s official visit to Japan, where he led a high-level state delegation to promote investment and explore technological collaboration opportunities in agricultural machinery manufacturing.
Major investment to strengthen farm equipment sector
Chief Minister Saini, who is on an official visit to Japan to attract global investors, led a high-level delegation that visited Kubota’s state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Osaka. He met with the company’s top executives during the visit to talk about potential technology alliances and investments in the farm machinery industry. It is anticipated that Kubota’s planned investment will introduce cutting-edge agricultural technology to Haryana and open up new jpb opportunities for youth. Officials from Haryana’s Industries and Commerce Department, including Minister Rao Narbir Singh and senior bureaucrats were part of the delegation.
Focus on technology and skill development
The Chief Minister commended Kubota’s innovation-driven production systems and said Haryana, being an agriculture-dominated state has the potential to become a major hub for farm equipment manufacturing. “The state has adopted simplified procedures to ensure investors receive timely clearances,” he said.

The Kubota announcement came a day after Saini inaugurated the Haryana Pavilion at the upcoming World Expo 2025 in Osaka. He emphasised Haryana’s contribution to India’s economy despite its small size, noting that the state accounts for a major share of the country’s automotive and agricultural output. He pointed out that every second car running on Indian roads is manufactured in Haryana, which also produces more than half of the country’s tractors. Haryana, he added, ranks second nationally in logistics facilities and has become a preferred destination for both domestic and international companies.
During the Japan visit, Saini and his delegation also travelled from Tokyo to Osaka on the Shinkansen bullet train, widely regarded as a symbol of Japan’s technological excellence. He said the experience reinforced India’s commitment to developing its own high-speed rail network under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat” initiative. Saini said Haryana and the rest of India can draw lessons from Japan’s efficiency and innovation to improve their own transport and industrial systems.
The Chief Minister said Haryana’s pro-industry policies, modern infrastructure and skilled workforce have made it one of India’s most investment-friendly states.
