The Sensex closed 371 points higher at 81,644.39 (+0.46 per cent), while the Nifty 50 ended just below the 25,000 mark at 24,981, up 104 points (+0.42 per cent).

The Sensex, which opened slightly positive at 81,319, rallied to an intraday high of 81,756 before paring some gains. With today’s close, the index has added 1,409 points over four sessions. On the Nifty, the index once again retested the psychological 25,000 level, touching a high of 25,013 during the session.

Tata Motors led the pack on the Sensex with a 3.5 per cent gain, followed by Adani Ports and Reliance Industries, which rose 3 per cent each. Notably, RIL alone contributed 229 points to the Sensex’s gain for the day.

In sectoral action, BSE Auto, Energy, Oil & Gas, and Telecom indices climbed over 1 per cent, while the BSE IPO index surged over 2 per cent, with multiple constituents hitting lifetime highs. The only laggard sector remained pharma.

Broader markets outperformed the benchmarks, with both the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rising 1 per cent each.

With the Nifty inching closer to the psychological 25,000 mark, today’s performance underscores strong market confidence and sustained buying interest across sectors.
