When Jessica Alba shared photos of herself living it up in NSW tourist hotspot Byron Bay last week, eagle-eyed watchers soon noticed an image of her holding hands with her rumoured new beau – US actor Danny Ramirez.
While Alba is yet to publicly speak about her new relationship, the pair walked the red carpet at a movie premiere in October, and there have been numerous sightings of them out and about.
Alba’s new relationship is thought to be her first since her split from husband of 16 years Cash Warren, whom she is now divorcing
Ramirez is one of only a handful of men she has been linked with since bursting into stardom as a teen, with her dating history including some big names.
Michael Weatherly
It was on the set of James Cameron-led sci-fi TV series Dark Angel that Alba, then 18, met Michael Weatherly, who was already a well-known movie and TV star, with a string of acting credits to his name.
Alba told Cosmopolitan in 2005 she was a virgin when she started dating the star, who was almost 13 years her senior.

“I was so young, 18, when I started dating him,” she said.
“I was a virgin. I knew I wanted to be in love with the first person I slept with because for almost everyone I knew, the first experience made them feel [bad].
“So I wanted to be really careful that he was going to be in love with me and wasn’t just going to leave me.”Â
The two became engaged on her 20th birthday in 2001.
“I don’t know [why I got engaged],” she said, adding she thought it was partly due to the fact she was a virgin when they met.
“He was 12 years older than me. I thought he knew better. My parents weren’t happy.”
The couple never made it down the aisle, splitting in 2003.
“It just didn’t work out,” Alba told Cosmopolitan in 2005.
“It’s really, really, really difficult to have the same occupation as the person you’re with – especially when you’re both actors.
“Actors are pulled in so many different directions that unless you both are absolutely into it through thick and thin and completely sure about each other, it’s just hard.”
“I’ve decided I’ll never date an actor again.”
It also appeared their relationship caused some stress at work.
Her Dark Angel co-star Jensen Ackles revealed on the Inside of You podcast in 2022 that Alba was “horrible” to work with and would pick on him.
“She was under an immense amount of pressure on that show. She was young, she was in a relationship with one of the guys [Weatherly], and that was rocky and causing some undue stress, I believe, on set,” he said.
Mark Wahlberg
Alba was rumoured to be in a relationship with Mark Wahlberg in 2003. They were even photographed together in Miami, Florida, on New Year’s Day of that year.
This would point to a possible overlap in Wahlberg’s relationship with his now-wife, Rhea Durham, whom he started dating in 2001. They welcomed their first child in September 2003.
In 2005, Cosmopolitan asked Alba if it was true she dated Wahlberg and another rumoured beau, former pro baseball player Derek Jeter.
“I don’t want to say,” she replied.
“But I will say they’re both really nice guys.
“I had a wild period with men for a second, but I wasn’t dating any more guys than any other girl – it’s just that most people aren’t written about in magazines.”
Cash Warren
Alba was on the set of the Fantastic Four film in 2004 when she met Cash Warren.
Alba was one of the stars of the much-anticipated film, having signed on to play Sue Storm/the Invisible Woman, while Warren was a director’s assistant.
She told Cosmopolitan in 2010, “Right after I met [Cash], I called my best friend and was like, ‘I met this guy and I feel like I’ve known him forever and I’m gonna know him for the rest of my life’.”
By the time the film was released in 2005 they were dating soon after, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing, with Warren revealing the pair split up in the early days.
“When we first started dating, I was really jealous of other guys and the attention she was getting from other guys,” Warren told the Whine Down with Jana Kramer podcast in August 2023.
“It just wasn’t making me feel good.”
He said he used the time part to figure out how he could be her “biggest cheerleader”.
“I’m not interested in the spotlight,” he said.
“I’m not a star, I’m not a celeb, I’m not an actor, I’ve never tried to be an actor. I high-five her, let her do her thing, and I’ve gotten more comfortable with it over the years.”
After getting back together, they announced they were expecting a child and were engaged in December 2007.
They eloped on May 19, 2008, in a low-key ceremony at Beverly Hills courthouse, 40 minutes after getting their marriage licence.
Alba reflected on their last-minute decision to marry during a July 2022 interview with Glamour UK.
“We eloped and I think I was nine months pregnant,” she said.
“It wasn’t planned. It was literally, ‘Honey, do you have anything to do this morning?’ And he was like, ‘No.’
“So I said, ‘Should we go to the courthouse and get married?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah.'”
They welcomed daughter Honor just weeks later in June 2008.

In February 2011, they announced they were expecting their second child, with daughter Haven arriving in August.
The following year, Alba launched The Honest Company, which sold a range of clean and sustainable products. By 2014, it was worth $1.5 billion.
Alba continued to juggle her acting work with helping run the company.
But while outwardly it appeared all was well in the marriage, Alba admitted during a 2021 appearance on Katherine Schwarzenegger’s Before, During and After Baby show that by then she and Warren were like ‘roommates’.
“It’s all rosy for two and a half years. But then after that, you become roommates,” she said.
“You’re just going through the motions. You have the responsibilities. It’s a lot of, like, checking the boxes, right?”
In the same interview, she said they constantly worked on their marriage.
In 2017, they announced they were expecting their third child. Son Hayes arrived on New Year’s Eve that year.
They appeared to be a happy family of five, with Alba and Warren making occasional red carpet appearances, while he would often show up on her Instagram feed.
In May 2024, she celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary with an Instagram post that included photos of their time together, but it also hinted of troubles.
“I’m proud of us for making it this far. There is no real set of rules or guidance that can ever prepare you for what it means to commit to another person and choose to be family,” she wrote.
“Through thick and thin we have continually found our way back to each other and have chosen one another.”
But just months later, on January 8, 2025, TMZ reported the couple had called it quits, with Alba confirming the news eight days later on Instagram.
She filed for divorce in February 2025, citing irreconcilable differences and listing their separation date as December 27, 2024.

Danny Ramirez
Months after filing for divorce, Alba, now 44, was linked with actor Danny Ramirez, who is best known for playing Joaquin Torres/Falcon in the new Marvel Cinematic Universe film Captain America: Brave New World.
News of a romance first broke in July when TMZ ran photos of the pair at LA airport following a vacation in Mexico.
In the days that followed, they were spotted out and about at dinner and arriving and leaving Ramirez’s LA home.
A source later told Us they had started off as friends before things turned romantic
“She is having a lot of fun in this new era. It’s not serious, but she is enjoying time with him.”
But it now appears they started dating much earlier, with Ramirez suspected of being the mystery man Alba was spotted getting cosy with in London in May.
By August they were seen together on a getaway in New York.
They returned to New York in September for the US Open Men’s Singles Final, where they were pictured canoodling in the stands beside her father.
They also attended an MTV Video Music Awards after party and were again spotted holding hands while strolling through New York during another date later that month.
On October 3, they made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Valentina at the Mill Valley Film Festival in California.
Then came their first appearance on her Instagram account a week ago, when she shared a photo with her 21 million Instagram followers of the two of them walking down stairs holding hands.
Now time will tell if Alba finds her happy ever after with Ramirez, despite once vowing never to date an actor again.
