Operation Sindoor: Indian Armed Forces strike terrorist infra in Pak, PoJK; ‘justice is served,’ says Indian Army

“Justice is served. Jai Hind.” Those were the precise words posted by the Indian Army on X (formerly Twitter) after launching Operation Sindoor, a precision attack on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). In a statement released shortly after the launch of the operation, the Ministry of Defence said that the attack under Operation Sindoor was “focused, measured and non-escalatory”, only targeting the terrorist infrastructure and not Pakistani Military facilities across the border.

India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution, read the official statement, describing the offensive launched in the early hours of Wednesday, May 7. 

Nine sites, where the terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed, were targeted under Operation Sindoor, according to the Ministry of Defence.

The defence ministry said there will be detailed briefing on Operation Sindoor on Wednesday, stating that the operation was undertaken in the wake of the barbaric April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 people dead. 

“We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable,” wrote the ministry.
