The Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee (RBI MPC) on June 6 lowered its full-year inflation forecast given the continuous decline in consumer prices. For the fiscal year 2025-26, the inflation projection has been lowered to 3.7 per cent from the earlier 4 per cent.

Lowering his inflation projections for the current fiscal year, the governor said, “While food inflation outlook remains soft, core inflation is also expected to remain benign with easing of international commodity prices.” Above normal monsoon also augurs well for Kharif crop, he added.
