Tata group’s fast-EV charging hub in this city can serve 16 vehicles simultaneously

The Tata group on Tuesday rolled out a fast electric vehicle charging hub in Mumbai, capable of serving 16 vehicles simultaneously. The facility is jointly started by Tata Power and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility. This marks the companies’ first co-branded high-speed charging hub in the city. 

The company claims that the facility is the largest of its kind in the city. 

The hub — which will operate 24×7 — is wholly powered by green energy, in tandem with the country’s ambition to transition to sustainable mobility.

The facility will cater to private cars, taxis, ride-hailing fleets and logistics operators.

Tata’s fast EV charging hub is strategically located 

The company said that the facility is strategically located near Terminal 2 of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. It is housed in the premises of The Leela Mumbai Hotel. 

Technology and capacity 

The fast charging hub is equipped with eight fast DC chargers with speeds up to 120 kW 

The facility will enable its customers to fully charge their vehicles in 40-50 minutes.

Tata Motors’ EV ambition

Tata Motors has publicly announced plans to launch 10 new electric vehicle models by March 2026 as part of its expansion strategy in the EV space. 

Tata Motors shares 

Earlier on Tuesday, the Tata Motors stock closed 0.3 per cent higher at Rs 384.5 apiece on BSE. 

Tata Motors shares have risen 10.3 per cent in the last one year, outperforming a 0.3 per cent decline and a 6.6 per cent gain in the Nifty50 and Nifty Auto indices, respectively.
