The Mumbai Traffic Police have issued an advisory warning motorists of likely congestion in and around Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) between October 7 and 9, when the Global Fintech Fest 2025 (GFF) will be held at the Jio World Centre. Authorities said a large turnout is expected over the three-day event, which will draw delegates, industry leaders and international dignitaries. Motorists have been asked to plan their routes and travel schedules in advance to avoid delays.
“In view of a major global event scheduled at Bandra Kurla Complex from 7th to 9th October 2025, a large number of attendees are expected, leading to traffic congestion in and around the BKC area. Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly to avoid delays,” the Mumbai Traffic Police said in an advisory posted on X.
Global leaders to address fintech summit
The Global Fintech Fest, considered the world’s largest fintech gathering, will host top policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer are scheduled to deliver keynote addresses during the event.
Starmer, on his first official visit to India as UK Prime Minister, will be in the country from October 8 to 9. On October 9, both leaders will meet in Mumbai to review progress under the India–UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, guided by the Vision 2035 roadmap. The framework focuses on key areas such as trade, technology, defence, climate, healthcare, and education.

BKC: Mumbai’s financial hub on high alert
The Bandra Kurla Complex, home to some of India’s top financial institutions including the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the National Stock Exchange (NSE), and major banks such as ICICI Bank and Punjab National Bank, is expected to experience heavy movement during the summit.
According to CBRE Research’s Global Prime Office Occupancy Costs survey, BKC ranks among the world’s most expensive office markets, reaffirming its position as a key financial centre in Asia.
Police assure smooth management
Authorities said additional traffic personnel and security teams have been deployed across BKC to manage vehicular flow and ensure safety during the high-profile event. Real-time updates on diversions and parking arrangements will be shared on official social media handles during the summit. Officials added that the advisory aims to minimise inconvenience to commuters while maintaining security and order as Mumbai hosts one of the year’s biggest international business events.
