Bank Holidays in October: Bank customers will face nine days of holidays in the coming fortnight, with bank branches in many states remaining closed in various cities from Tuesday, September 30 to Saturday, October 4, October 6 to October 7 and October 10.
Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami/Durga Puja closures on September 30
Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Imphal, Jaipur, Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi on September 30 on the occasion of Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami/Durga Puja.
Navaratri Ends/Maha Navami/Dussehra Holiday on October 1
Banks will remain closed on October 1 in Agartala, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Itanagar, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Shillong and Thiruvananthapuram on account of Mahanavami and conclusion of Navratri or Dussehra/Ayudhapuja, Vijayadashami/Durga Puja.

Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti Holiday on October 2
According to the official holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India, banks will be closed in all the cities including Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Itanagar, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar, Shillong, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada on October 2 on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti or Dasara or Vijaya Dashami or Dussehra or Durga Puja (Dasain) and Janmotsav of Sri Sri Sankardeva.
Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti holiday on October 7
Banks will remain closed in Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh and Shimla on October 7 on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima.
Sunday break in coming fortnight
October 5 will be Sunday, which fall under regular weekly bank holidays across the country.
Total closures in coming fortnight
Overall, banks will remain closed for around nine days in various states in the coming fortnight, including weekend, major festivals like Navratri, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, etc.
Online services unaffected
While physical branches will remain closed during these days, customers can continue to use ATMs, internet banking, mobile apps, and UPI services without interruption, except in rare cases of scheduled maintenance.
